Each year when I photograph these young ladies and gentlemen it reminds me how quickly time passes…especially when I have known them since they were born. Jenna has grown into a fine young lady and I wish her all the best in her upcoming journey of life, post high school! I couldn’t help but smile as I was editing these photos from Grey’s first birthday session. Believe me, he is all boy and packed full of energy. I had to catch him when he would stop for 2 seconds to decide where he was going next, . I’m really happy with the images that we were able to capture. I especially love the one of the entire family on the bed. It was not planned to get the entire family, but this one that I’m including on my Panama City Photography Blog just worked and I love it!

Panama City Beach Photography – Engagement

Last weekend was HOT and HUMID, but it did not stop us from having a fabulous engagement session here in Downtown Panama City and on Panama City Beach. We had actually scheduled this photography session for the weekend before, but Tropical Storm Debby decided to dump buckets of water on the Gulf Coast that weekend so we postponed the session by a week. Brian and Nicole are a fun loving couple and full of smiles! It is so nice to be around a couple in love and enjoying each other’s company! I asked Nicole and Brian to send me a little bit of info about how they met and a brief description about themselves, so enjoy getting know them a little better and viewing some of their fabulous photos from their Panama City Photography Engagement Session.

Brian and I meet at his 21st birthday party, well to be more specific I met him at his 21st birthday party and he meet me about 2 weeks later… That night Brian was wearing a T-shirt that said BRIAN so naturally I ask him if that was his name and he replied simply with a, no it is Steve. So for two weeks I thought that that was his name! It was his fun loving and easy going personality that attracted me to him in the first place and continues to do so!

Brian graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a BS in aviation and technology and joined the Army in July of 2011 to become a Helicopter Pilot. He is currently a Warrant Officer at Fort Rucker, Alabama in the middle of his flight school training. Nicole also graduated from BGSU with a BS in Dietetics and is currently 2 weeks from finishing up her Dietetic internship in Cleveland, Ohio and 1 semester away from graduating from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio with her MS in Nutrition.

Panama City Photographer – Family Photography

Yes I know, it’s been way too long since I posted on my blog! How does the time fly by like it does??? All I know is that I need about 48 hours in one day to get everything done that I want to do. I blame my lack of blogging on that one factor alone, . Not really, I’ve just been traveling quite a bit lately and that has put me behind on updating my blog. Well now that I’m back in Panama City for a while I hope to catch up.

Emily contacted me this past Spring about doing a family session and requested the session take place at one of our local parks. Unfortunately the day of the session it was raining and humid, so we decided to take the photos at my Panama City, Florida studio. She brought some books and candy to be teasers for the kids to keep them in a good mood and those props turned out to be great for our photo session. Emily was so nice to write a review on my “Google” places page which I am including below.

“Lana did a family lifestyle session for our family in her studio as a suprise birthday gift for my mother. These were the first family photos we have had since the birth of our second child one year ago. Lana was so patient with our kids and her studio is beautiful with plenty of room for them to move around. I don’t know how she did it, but she created some of the most beautiful photos of our family. And my mother was blown away on her birthday. Lana is so talented!” ……Awww, thank you Emily, you are so sweet! I loved photographing your beautiful family!

Panama City Beach Photographer – Seabreeze Jazz Festival

Another fantastic Seabreeze Jazz Festival is under our belts! I have been attending the Jazz Fest for the past 10 years and it gets better each and every year! Yes, those of you that were there know that Saturday wasn’t the best day for weather. It’s the first time I can remember in the past 10 years that we actually had rain during the day! Kudos to those that braved the weather and still put on fantastic shows for us! I even forgot my sunglasses thinking it was going to be rainy and cloudy all day, so I made the easy walk over to Pier Park and bought a great pair of Sunglasses. I don’t need to much of an excuse to go to Pier Park and shop anyway, . It wasn’t an hour later that it started to FLOOD, but we really cannot complain too much because it was a great weekend by all accounts.

Sunday turned out to be just a marvelous day on Panama City Beach and was a photographers dream. Gorgeous humidity-free blue sky and a true “Seabreeze” during the day. Look at Mindi Abair’s hair in these photos and you will see the breeze flowing through her golden blonde locks. Mindi always puts on a FABULOUS show and has been bringing in local high school band members to play a number with her. Cheers to Mindi for keeping the young musician’s dream alive. This was the first time for Trombone Shorty to play our festival and boy, did he ever play! He had everyone on their feet dancing and we even had a parade of his fans from NOLA start a dance line through the crowd! FUN TIMES!! The last artist to play at this year’s festival was the ever amazing Dave Koz! He, too, knows how to get a crowd on their feet. It was hard for me to take these photos of the artists for wanting to dance! I did manage to get a few moves in between clicks though!

Panama City Beach Pet Photographer

There could not have been a more perfect day for a fun pet photography session than this past Saturday afternoon on Panama City Beach. I had photographed Michael and his two adorable pups, Jack and Shelby, two summers ago but this session was extra special as Chris and Baxter were there for the shoot as well! Living near the marina at Bay Point, we had such great opportunities to photograph in wonderful locations. This was the first time for me to photograph here and I loved it! Palm trees, yachts and the sun in the background make for a wonderful backdrop. The new park was perfect for the pups to run and play. We thought they would tire out and pose for us, but they were having too much fun-and I don’t blame them for not wanting to sit still very long. It’s no different then trying to make a child quit playing when they are having fun to pose, . Even with all the puppy energy, we got some great shots.

Panama City Beach Sunset Photography

I’ve been overwhelmed lately with so many photo shoots that I need to edit and upload to their online galleries, but I’m trying to do my best to blog here about more of those sessions. This session was just last week – and what a gorgeous week we had here for our vacationing families! This wonderful family, The Siebers, were here visiting from their home state of Illinois. Jaime had emailed me asking about my photography sessions after she found me online. A couple of days later she decided I was the photographer she wanted to photograph her family while here visiting Panama City Beach. We picked the date and we both were excited about their upcoming Family Lifestyle Photography Session.

The date came and it was storming on Panama City Beach that morning, of all the days I thought! Jaime called me at the studio around 10:00 am and asked what was the plan since it was raining. I told her that here on the Gulf Coast you just never know and we would make our final decision 1 hour before we were supposed to meet late that afternoon. The skies started to clear after lunch, but there were still some beautiful clouds left from the storm and we had a fabulous photo shoot!

Panama City Beach Family Photography

Happy Easter! What a beautiful day we are having here in Panama City, Florida for this Easter Sunday! Even though I am at the studio working I want to take a moment to give thanks. I’ve been blessed with a very supportive husband and family, even though I could not be with them today for Easter lunch, . For my friends that call and pick me up with I’m overwhelmed with work letting me know that are thinking about me, and you know who you are, . For my clients who are the BEST clients anyone could ever ask for, BUT most importantly for Jesus who I love and look to for spiritual support. This is not to be a religious post, but how can I not mention Him on this amazing day if I believe in Him?! If you don’t, that is your choice and I do not judge you by your choice, but all in the same do not judge me because I do love and believe in Him. This is just my opportunity to say it to the world and I’m not ashamed to do so!

That pretty much sums up my feelings for today, but of course I have to post some photos from a recent Panama City Beach Photography Session. Michelle contacted me back in February wanting to book a family session in March while ALL of her family was in town visiting. We all met on a breezy and cool Sunday morning and had a wonderful time together on Panama City Beach. They are one large and blessed family and I was thrilled that they wanted me to capture their special day together with 4 generations! I only wish all families had this kind of opportunity to be together for a weekend and share their love and company with one another!

Friends – Panama City Beach Photographer

Friends, we all have them, or at least I hope you do! This past Sunday I was blessed to celebrate 45 years of living and did it with some of my close friends. I am SO very thankful for the friends I have made during these past 45 years. Some were made through school, some through church, others through my career as a real estate agent and now I’m making friends as a professional photographer. Thankfully some are still very close friends, but as we know life moves on sometimes and you loose friendships that you wish would last forever.

So speaking of friendships that brings me to the real reason for this blog post. I had the opportunity to photograph 3 very best of friends on Panama City Beach recently. One of these gorgeous ladies I already knew and she called me to set up a Panama City Beach Photography Shoot for the 3 of them while they were here visiting. I met them on somewhat of a breezy afternoon at St. Andrews State Park on Panama City Beach! We had a blast during their photo session. These ladies are all amazing with families and careers, but make a point to spend time together every year, even though they do not live close to each other. I think that is wonderful and I was so happy to photograph Gayla, Kimberly and Barbara’s gorgeous smiles while they were having fun on Panama City Beach at sunset.

Oh, and while still on the topic of friendship, tonight I am meeting one of my own best friends from Fort Payne High School on Panama City Beach to have dinner with her. She is here on Spring Break and sent me a Facebook message last week saying she wanted to get together while she was here. That really means a lot to me, as she only has a few days in our paradise, but is taking the time to spend time with an old friend! It is going to be just she and I catching up on the past 26 years since we left high school. I can’t wait to see my friend Lisa and hopefully watch one of our beautiful sunsets with her on Panama City Beach!
